Buying generic video card board for GPU?

Is it possible to buy a generic board to mount a video card GPU on. I Would like to know this as i have a good GPU (Nvidia 8600 GT), but the current board it is mounted on clocks in at a maximum of only 450 mhz (maximum overclocked) when the official nvidia board will clock in at around 700 mhz.

If it is possible to purchase this please give a link to sites as i can't find any.

Thank you.|||its possible of course.. but practical not really.. the hassle, time ,thousand of dollars in equipment you would need to do it. you could just get yourself a new card.|||That won't work. The reason your board is so cheap is because it contains a bottom-end GPU. Cards that run at 700MHz contain only GPUs that pass quality control testing at those speeds. Besides, an 8600 GT is low end and you need complex surface mount soldering equipment to attach a GPU to a board.
