What new graphics/video card should i purchase?

Hey guys,

I got some extra gift cash for the holidays, and i wanted to spend my money on a new GPU. I've had an Nvidia GeForce 8600GT 256mb for two years, and i wanted to bump it up to something with a little performance. I want to grab a card off NewEgg for under $120. Personally, with which card can do you believe i get the biggest bang for my buck? Thanks!|||You should try out either 8800GT, or something like EAH3850 X2.

The best appears to be HD4870 X2 at the moment.

Try to get a card with 1gb, (2gb+ memory would be preferred). Remember that if a card with 2GPUs has 1gb, then its actually 512 for each GPU, the second just has a copy of the data on the other GPU.

So if you are going for a 2X card, then go for 2gb+ minimum.

If you expect to run GTA4, it runs fine on both 8800GT and EAH3850 X2. It would however seam that it takes a lot of CPU.|||Well two 8600GT 's are the same as one 9600GT, so if i were you i'd get a 9500GT 512MB-1GB or a 9600GT 512MB-GB. If you play games with large resolution maps you'll need more memory especially for Flight Simulator games those require alot of memory! $120 is quite alot of money for todays graphic cards i spent $45 on a 9500GT 512MB at www.tigerdirect.com but newegg has about the same pricing. So i mean if you want to spend $120 get a 9800GT 1GB and that'll last quite some time! Hope this helped!!
