Question about updating my video card drivers?

If I have a overclocked graphics card, and I update my drivers, does it erase the overclock done to it? It's a BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT OC. So the overclock was done to it before I bought it, I dont want to update any drivers and end up not having it overclocked anymore. Thanks.|||no what overclocking does is it rewrites the setting on the card that sets limits on how fast the card can go. and it this case forces it to go a little higher that what it was made to do. doing this can cause a small change in lowering the life of the card but not a lot. you should be okay if it was bought over clocked. be careful when overclocking. it can destroy a card if not done right read online for more info. now drivers are a piece of software that tells the operating system how to use that piece of hardware. they are too different things and the drivers will not most likely need to be changed. good luck.|||updating the drivers wont do any harm to your hardware.
