What kind of video card brand can a pci bus support?

i saw in the device manager that my bus is pci. what video card is ok for that bus: nvidia or asus? or suggest me any please. (sure hope a miracle comes to answer all of my questions)|||It's not a question about brand, it's just the interface.

Are you 100% sure your motherboard does not have a PCIE 16x slot?

Go find out from your motherboard's spec sheet or manual.

>nvidia or asus?

There are 2 main companies which produce graphics chips.

Nvidia (which produces Geforce cards)

ATi (which produces Radeon cards)

The other brands that you hear of, such as GIGABYTE, ASUS, XFX, and so on are manufacturers.

They simply produce the cards that the chips sit on, and then package and label it. They do not make the graphics processing unit.

However they are all identical because the design and blueprint of the cards is given by the chip maker (Nvidia or ATi). These manufacturers must follow the designed given to them by ATi or Nvidia.

The cards are only different in subtle ways that don't really impact how the card performs (though in some occasions the cards can be factory overclocked and made to run better than it was originally designed to, but overclocking can be done by the end user anyway).

Case in point: Brands don't matter. It's all about the interface.|||Well, I don't think straight PCI video cards are made anymore ^_^

However, I can't determine what you have from that information. Do you have the model or brand of your computer? Or perhaps the model or brand of your motherboard (that you should be able to get from the Device manager)|||Probably if you dig deep in newegg you might find an nvidia MX250 works fine for me and fits in PCI.

It can run 3D games like Team Fortress 2 and Portal.Make sure it has at least direct X10 to work it to it's best graphical ability :)|||First off, are you sure its just a PCI? Not a PCIe? PCIe x16?

Secondly, There are two Chipset Manufactures: nVidia and ATI. Companies like Asus, EVGA, MSI, and XFX make cards with those chipsets. Your computer can use any kind of Chipset/Manufacture as long as the interface is correct (Interface = PCI, PCIe, PCIe x16). Brands don't matter, they're just personal opinion.

If you only have a regular PCI slot on your motherboard then there is no real good graphics cards out there. You can check out www.newegg.com for graphics cards or provide more information and you might get some actual help.|||Desktop Graphics / Video Cards > Interface : PCI 64 Results

PCI graphics were superseded by AGP graphics which were superseded by PCI Express x16 graphics. Your PC must be an old model.

1) get a DirectX 9 or higher model

2) check the power requirements of the card, the label on your power supply lists its specs.
