Error when installing driver for a new video card?

I bought a GeFroce 8500 GT graphics card for my T6544 Emachine PC, and every time i try downloading the driver and error saying "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." how do i fix this?|||Uninstall the driver/card from the deveice manager (not physically) them restart the PC it'll detect new hardware and open the install wizard. Once it's installed go directly to Nvidia's site and get the latest driver for that card. Also try windows update first to make sure everythings good with the OS beforehand.|||I would go to the site where you can download the drivers ...put in your video card number and download the driver from there. Also go to your add and remove program and un install the old driver for the card you had in there.

and before you install the new driver go to your device manager and look for your display tab and uninstall the old card in there if its there, right click and hit remove|||I assume you mean you get this error when you are trying to install the card? It means you don't have drivers installed for that graphics card. If you bought it new, it should have come with the proper driver to install. If you got it from someone else, you need to go to NVIDIA's web site and download and install the driver from there.|||did you install the program from the disk first before installing the card therefore the drivers would be in place first...if the hardware is in before the drivers the computer will try to install generic drivers for it ..they are not always compatible...the graphics card is considered third party needing specific drivers provided with the graphics card|||Are you sure you've downloaded the correct driver? You suppose got a driver CD when you buy the graphic card.|||Did you install the original software first? The disk it came with? It wont see the card if the software isnt installed.
