Can i upgrade my video memory on my existing video card?

I was thinking about getting a new video card for my desktop pc because it did not have enough video memory, but then my father thought maybe we could upgrade the existing card by just adding more memory, is this possible?|||Look at the card. If you don't see empty memory slots, then NO. Consider checking the manual that came with it, or checking the manufacturer's website.

I am not sure exactly why, but you did not tell us what brand or model number. It's pretty hard to read your mind from here.

Good luck|||no you cant you will unfortuantly hve to by a new card. Try www.pricewatch.com|||Unfortunatly no, you need to buy a new video card.|||if ur video card is onboard go to bios and try to increase onboard memory, some board share upto 256mb of ur system physical ram.say u have 512 mb system ram some boards take 256mb for windows and 256 mb for agp card

if urs is a external agp card or pci express card u have to change the card.buy a card with minimum 256 mb if u r buying new one

hope i solved ur problem

please wrtie for further details if needed|||No you can not upgrade memory on a card unless you replace it with a new card that has more memory. If your video card is "integrated" on the motherboard some boards do have an option in bios to increase video memory using your systems physical memory or "RAM" Hope this helps.|||uuummm no|||You would think that would be the logical step, since you can upgrade memory on the motherboard, no problem. Unfortunately, these companies don't make video cards like that - someday, though, I see it happening..but not today...you'll have to pay for a brand new card w/ more memory....
