Will my old motherboard run a good video card?

High end gaming more or less requires the bandwidth of at least AGP 4x-8x or PCI-Express now a days. For playing older games, PCI should be just fine. There's still manufacturers that release PCI versions of gaming video cards, which have the raw horsepower to play the games, but often enough the PCI Bus itself can't handle the traffic (It won't overload your computer, it just won't run as great as AGP or PCI-E, but it will still run, and probably better than the existing graphics adapter.)
