Does my video card strong enough to view and edit hd video?

I own a gateway mt3421 laptop and am considering buying a canon vixia hf10. If I get it then will it be able to support viewing and editing hd video? My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 TurboCache supporting 256MB|||Your video card has almost no effect on editing video.
